Late Nite Catfight Drummer Greg Jacob Inks Endorsement Deal With Soultone Cymbals
New York, NY – Today, Brooklyn’s indie-rockabilly sensation Late Nite Catfight announced their drummer Greg Jacob has just signed an endorsement deal with Soultone Cymbals. By joining forces with Soultone, Late Nite Catfight adds new depth and power to their rhythm section.
“Soultone is definitely a force multiplier,” said Greg. “With Late Nite Catfight I play old-school standup rockabilly drums like Dickie Harrell and Slim Jim Phantom. I use a stripped down traditional kit with just a kick, snare and one cymbal that I ride and crash. So it is critical that my single cymbal be able to handle any type of playing technique using sticks, rods and brushes, applied at varying tempos and dynamics while being able to generate a full spectrum of tones across the entire diameter of the cymbal.”
“In the past I played only vintage cymbals because I believed that new cymbals - regardless of the manufacturing technique - can never achieve the unique blend of attack, sustain, response and mellowness that comes with 40 years worth of oxidation and patina,” Greg said. “But my Soultone Vintage Old School crash/ride gives any vintage pie a run for its money.”
Soultone cymbals are hand-hammered in Turkey by the finest cymbal makers and undergo a thorough quality control process prior to being imported to the US. Once they arrive in America, they are sorted by hand into matching sets. The care taken throughout this process is tremendous and it results in cymbals with a noteworthy difference that the player can hear and feel.
“I am extremely pleased to join the Soultone family of artists and endorse what I believe are the finest and most versatile cymbals around.”

For those who don’t know, CBGB and OMFUG stands for Country, BlueGrass and Blues and Other Music For Uplifting Gormandizers. The landmark rock club is forever a part of history as the birthplace of punk rock. Founded by Hilly Kristal on the principle of only showcasing artists who performed original material, by 1976 CBGB was a hot bed of what would later be considered iconic music talent including the Ramones, Patti Smith Group, Talking Heads, Blondie, Television, The Dead Boys, Suicide and The Fleshtones just to name a few. In the next decade, the first wave of hardcore bands played legendary Sunday matinee line ups that included Bad Brains, Agnostic Front, The Beastie Boys, Cro-Mags, Sick of It All, Misfits, Murphy’s Law and others. More international stars walked through the doors or appeared on the stage at CBGB than any other venue in New York City, ranging in styles from The Police to Green Day to Guns & Roses to Alan Jackson.
